The Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV houses unique programs and allows students to start their Economic or Business studies in their first year at The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.
A BBA at The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is a multidisciplinary Degree, one in which you will learn from Departments outside of Business and Economics, that includes: Political Science, Geography, History, and Rhetoric & Communications. The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV and The Faculty of Business and Economics focuses on a well rounded education that appeals to students with entrepreneurial spirits, a desire to face challenges and a flexible skill set and the opportunity to continually grow. Whereas, a B.Comm is more focused on Business learning and does not have a multidisciplinary approach.
We have a direct entry faculty. Once you have applied to The University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV and have been accepted, you can take business or economics courses in your first year.
Undergraduate Degrees
The Economics program at the University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV provides a solid understanding of how the economy operates at both the individual (micro) and societal (macro) levels. Using an analytical, problem-solving approach, students learn the theoretical, empirical and institutional aspects of modern economics, and how to apply these tools to make informed judgments about current economic policies.
Students learn about how markets work, how choices and tradeoffs are made in the face of limited resources, and how these choices made by individuals, businesses and governments affect outcomes such as savings, inflation, taxation, economic growth, income inequality, healthcare and pollution levels in society.

The Economics and Finance (EFIN) program at the University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV teaches students conceptual tools to understand the operation of capital markets, futures markets, and financial instruments such as equities, fixed income securities, options and derivatives.
It provides students with a solid understanding of modern finance and financial economics as they relate to portfolio management, capital structure of firms, and the operation of contemporary financial systems.
The program leads to a 4-year BA or BBA degree, depending on the particular electives chosen by the student.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at the University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV prepares students for careers in business across the private, public, and non-profit sectors. We nurture socially conscious business leaders who can adapt to the ever-changing needs of the modern business world.
The Business and Administration program develops critical thinking, analytic and decision-making abilities, oral and written communication skills, and the self-confidence to effectively apply these skills.
Our 4-year BBA equips students for managerial work and graduate studies. Students may choose between a 'general stream' degree or specialize in one of the following streams:
- Marketing
- International Business
- Accounting
- Human Resource Management & Organizational Behaviour
- Supply Chain Management

Graduate Degrees
The Master of Arts in Applied Economics (MAE) program at the University of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV teaches students how to use concepts and tools from economics to analyze contemporary issues affecting individuals, businesses and society in Canada and abroad. Students learn how economic analysis informs policy in a variety of fields such as regulation, healthcare, poverty, environment, labour and finance.
Students may pursue a general degree, or complete a concentration in either Policy Analysis or Environmental, Resource and Development Economics.
Designed through a partnership between industry and academia, the degree addresses the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing organizations in all industries. The MiM engages students in reflections on how the interplay of these topics affects contemporary workplaces and can be managed.
The MiM degree attracts career-driven individuals with an undergraduate degree and work experience who are seeking additional management credentials. The program welcomes individuals in a variety of disciplines and this environment is conducive to innovation and building a broader personal network. In this course-based program, the offerings are flexible and include interactive asynchronous online courses and face-to-face interactions. The expected time to graduate is 1 year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time); maximum time allowed is 5 years.
The MiM degree offers 2 specializations: 1) Technology, Innovation and Operations Management (TIO) and 2) Data Analytics (DA). Students in both streams start and end their program with 2-week intensive bootcamps on campus. In between these 2 bootcamps, TIO students complete 6 courses online (option to take 2 of these courses in-person, which meets PGWP requirements for international students). DA students complete 4 courses on campus and 2 courses online.
